In the aftermath of the 11 September tragedies, our colleagues came together to share their stories and memories of that day.

Some colleagues helped at Ground Zero during and after the attack, while others played important roles in helping Merrill Lynch recover in the weeks that followed. We told those stories in our Helping Hands section.

Many colleagues shared their thoughts and fears about that day, in personal essays and poetry. They described where they were, what they were doing and the reactions of their families. In many cases, children and relatives sent in their own poignant observations.
