Mary B. Garrison is a Senior Vice President - Wealth Management and Wealth Management Advisor with over thirty years of investment management experience. Previously, Mary was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Northern Trust Bank, responsible for the investment management for high net worth individuals and charitable organizations. Mary also spent six years with State Street Global Advisors as a portfolio manager in Boston and as the Manager of the West Coast Private Asset Management Group. She also held investment positions at a life insurance company and other major banks earlier in her career.She is a CFA® charterholder and is a member of the CFA® Institute. She is also a member of the CFA® Society of San Francisco where she served on the Board of Directors for six years, serving as President of the 3,000 member organization in 2007-8. She is a member of the Crystal Springs Chapter of National Charity League,Inc., a mother daughter organization that focuses on community service, leadership development and cultural experiences and served one year on the Board of Directors. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Women’s Exchange as well as Co-President of the San Francisco Chapter of the Women’s Exchange, an internal Merrill Lynch organization within Global Wealth & Investment.
Mary received her B.S. degree in Finance with High Distinction from the University of Nebraska and her Masters of Science degree in Finance from Boston College where she received both the Dean's Letter of Commendation and the Director's Letter of Commendation for outstanding academic achievement. Mary enjoys spending time camping and backpacking with her family, scuba diving and cooking. She also enjoys traveling and spent two years living in London. Mary and her husband Kevin reside in Hillsborough with their three children Kristin, Benjamin and Matthew.David Swartz is a Senior Vice President - Wealth Management and Wealth Management Advisor with more than thirty years of investment management experience. Prior to the formation of Garrison • Swartz, David was the Director of Investment Management for the Northern California Region of Northern Trust Bank. In that role, he was responsible for the management of investment assets for high net worth individuals and charitable organizations and supervised a team of eight portfolio managers. He previously held senior management and portfolio manager positions at other major banks.David is a member of the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Community Music Center. He previously served for eight years on the Board of Directors of Raphael House, a non-profit organization that provides services to homeless families in San Francisco. He also served for six years on the University of California at San Francisco Foundation Investment Committee and was the Chairman of their Trust SubCommittee. David is a CFA® Charterholder and is a member of the CFA® Institute. He is a member of the CFA® Society of San Francisco and was the founding President of the CFA® Society of Tucson, Arizona. David graduated from the University of Florida where he received his B.S. degree in Journalism and his M.B.A. in Finance.David and his wife Diane reside in Mill Valley and have three children, Eric, Jennifer and Tucker. He is an avid reader, a fan of jazz music and a movie buff. Additional interests include photography, hiking and lots of yardwork. David plays drums in the Bay area rock-and-blues band Close Enough.Montserrat Garcia-Castell, began her career in financial services with Bank of America in 2006, while still in high school. She was a Banking Center Manager in both Northern and Southern California before joining the Garrison • Swartz Team in 2015. As our dedicated Client Associate, "Montse" focuses on offering efficient and proactive client service, building and nurturing client relationships and overseeing client banking needs. Montse attended California State University - Chico, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Outside of work, Montse enjoys running and has completed four marathons.
