When Carl joined Fidelity Investments in 2000, it marked the beginning of his career in the financial services industry. He joined Merrill Lynch in 2002 and went on to create The Cafaro Group. His primary focus with the group is helping clients develop a strategic outlook. He also serves as liaison between the Group and internal business associates. Focused on developing key practices for financial advisors and advocating customized strategies for clients, Carl is a presenter for Merrill Lynch's Optimal Practice Model program for financial advisors. On Wall Street named Carl to its "Top 40 Advisors Under 40" list in 2009, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
A graduate of Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts, Carl holds a bachelor's degree in economic and political science, as well as a master's degree from Boston College. He lives in Newton and has four children. Carl is active in the Brookline community, serving as a member of the advisory board at a local learning center and coaches youth baseball. He also serves on the board of directors for the Catalina Film Festival, an annual event designed to benefit the Catalina Island Conservancy.

Peter's 20-year career in the financial services industry started in 1992 in the corporate and institutional investment division of Bank of Boston. In June 1995 Peter joined Bank of Boston 1784 Investor Services–Private Client Division, focusing on high-net-worth clients. Bank of Boston became part of Bank of America in 2004, and Peter then transitioned with the team to Merrill Lynch in 2008. As a financial advisor for The Cafaro Group, Peter oversees fixed-income portfolios and keeps the team informed of current fixed-income markets and opportunities. He also manages high-net-worth family relationships and offers advice and guidance to families on tactical management of their portfolios.
Peter is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys fly fishing, gardening and traveling. He and his wife, Liz, live in Dedham. They have four grown children.
Laura has been with Merrill Lynch for 22 years, since 1993, and has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and the CHARTERED RETIRMENT PLANNING COUNSELORSM (CRPC®) designation. A 1994 graduate of Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, Steve earned a bachelor's degree in finance. He went on to earn his master's degree in financial planning from Bentley University's McCallum Graduate School in Waltham, Massachusetts. He currently resides in North Attleboro with his wife, Darah, and their two children, Jared and Caitlin.
Erik's tenure with the organization began in 1997 when he joined Bank of Boston 1784 Investor Services. In 1999 he moved to the bank's Private Client Division and focused on providing investment strategies to high-net-worth clients. Bank of Boston became part of Bank of America in 2004, and Erik moved with the team to Merrill Lynch in 2008. As a financial advisor for The Cafaro Group he spends time working with clients to develop fixed-income portfolios for nondiscretionary accounts. He also performs analysis and trading on all discretionary accounts.
Erik is a specially qualified senior portfolio manager who, in addition to providing traditional advice and guidance, can help clients pursue their objectives by building and managing his own personalized or defined strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, Merrill Lynch model portfolios, and third-party investment strategies. senior portfolio managers are provided a high degree of flexibility in constructing portfolios and selecting securities. When servicing clients through the firm’s Investment Advisory Program, a senior portfolio manager may manage his strategies on a discretionary basis. After meeting certain additional requirements, a senior portfolio manager may use his own strategies to manage the assets of other Merrill Lynch Advisors’ clients. Erik gets his greatest rewards from developing lasting client relationships and working with his team.
Erik graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, with a bachelor's degree in government. An active sportsman, he enjoys skiing and ice fishing in the winter, and trains for triathlons in the warmer months. He is active in his community as a youth soccer coach. Erik and his wife, Aimee, make their home in Rowley with their two daughters.
Kelly began her career in the financial services industry in 2005 when she joined Bank of America. Less than a year later she joined Merrill Lynch and The Cafaro Group, and now focuses on developing and maintaining client relationships, and strives to provide seamless execution of the group's client service model.
Kelly's passion for client service is fueled by the opportunity to develop lasting, long-term client relationships while helping clients simplify their complex financial lives. She also helps train client associates around the country.
Kelly also oversees the team's daily business operations, effectively managing the overall workflow and operations side of the Group. A graduate of Boston College, Kelly holds bachelor's degrees in finance and in marketing. She and her husband, Craig, currently live in Chicago with their two young daughters, Olivia and Madeleine.
Alison began working with Bank of America in 2007, and joined Merrill Lynch and The Cafaro Group in 2010. She works closely with the team’s internal and external strategic resources, helping to deliver a holistic goals-based wealth management approach and the full capabilities and services of the team to every client relationship. Her greatest reward comes from forming and deepening client relationships. She enjoys getting to know clients and their families on a personal level, and she strives to deliver excellent service. She describes herself as "someone who is completely vested in the clients' personal and financial well-being."
Alison graduated from Elon University in Elon, North Carolina, and holds bachelor's degrees in both corporate communications and international studies. She is active in a number of organizations including Best Buddies, a global volunteer movement that creates personal and professional opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; Tri Delta Alumni; and the Suburban Boston Women's Exchange. She lives in Brookline with her husband, Doug.

Scott began his career in the financial services industry in 1993. He joined Merrill Lynch and The Cafaro Group in 2011, bringing with him well-honed skills in research, technical analysis, equity trading, financial analysis and knowledge of alternative investments. For Scott, the most rewarding part of his job is being a knowledgeable resource for clients.
Scott is a graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Maine, where he earned a bachelor's degree in government. He and his wife, Carolyn, live in Holliston with their two children. Scott is a youth sports coach for Pop Warner football and Holliston Youth Basketball, and is a member of Holliston's Zoning Committee Board of Appeals.
Rob joined Merrill Lynch and The Cafaro Group in 2008 after one year with J.P. Morgan Chase. His greatest satisfaction is in helping clients simplify their financial lives. As a member of The Cafaro Group, Rob focuses on equity analysis for investment models, corporate retirement plan services, including retirement income strategies, and the investment management of charitable organizations.
Rob holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Connecticut, with a minor in business administration. Rob lives in Norwood with his wife, Shannon.
Jonathan joined Merrill Lynch as a wealth management advisor in 2013, bringing 20 years of investment experience to The Cafaro Group. What motivates Jonathan is the opportunity to help clients clarify their financial goals and help them create wealth management strategies that align with their financial vision. He focuses on helping ultra-high-net-worth families and real-estate business owners.
Jonathan holds a bachelor's degree in American studies from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He is a Trustee of the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston in Newton, Massachusetts, and President of the Matthew L. Greer Children's Foundation. He and his wife, Lynne, live in Chestnut Hill with their three children, Sydney, Charlotte and Max.
Steven utilizes 27 years' experience in the financial services industry to help guide clients. After 15 years as a financial planner with Fidelity, and 12 years in the real estate and banking industries he joined Merrill Lynch in 2013 (Steven does not perform financial planner duties with the firm). He is driven by his passion for helping clients focus on their financial future and develop a goals-based investment strategy that can help move them forward in pursuit of their financial vision.
Steven's duties include playing a key role in the professional development of the team. He also supports those Cafaro Group colleagues who are qualified as portfolio managers through the Merrill Lynch Investment Advisory Program to implement portfolio models.
Steven is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, in Durham, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, with a minor in Economics. He and his wife, Leslie, make their home in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Stefanie joined Merrill Lynch and The Cafaro Group in 2013 after working for both Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley. Driven by her desire to help clients, Stefanie strives to provide excellent service by managing expectations and responding to client requests and inquiries in a timely manner. She also strives to make each interaction with clients supportive and positive.
Stefanie is a graduate of Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, and holds a bachelor's degree in business marketing. She enjoys the outdoors, running and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband, Joe, make their home in Westborough with their two children.
Kathyleen began her Merrill Lynch career in 2005 in her hometown of San Diego and joined The Cafaro Group in 2015. Kathyleen holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Arizona State University and earned the CRPC® designation from the College of Financial Planning. She is an active supporter of the Pat Tillman Foundation and enjoys spending time at home with her family in Norfolk, Massachussets.
Frank joined Bank of America in 2005 and became of a member of the Cafaro Group in April of 2015. He has been in the financial services business for over 30 years and has managed divisions with several large financial services companies. Frank’s diverse experience in the industry brings a seasoned perspective that is extremely valuable to the team. His primary focus is in business development, working directly with strategic cohorts in several key areas across the country. By aligning with Merrill Lynch resources in cities throughout the United States, our team is able to deliver an even broader scope of services while also being accessible to those who do not live locally.
Frank received his bachelor's degree in management from Bentley University. He resides in Franklin, Massachusetts, with his family.
Harrison began his career in the financial services industry in 2007 as an executive compensation consultant in New York City. He advised clients on executive stock options, concentrated stock management and the coordination of executive benefits. Two years later, Harrison joined Merrill Lynch, working with a Private Banking and Investment Group team in Columbus, Ohio, where he focused on multi-generational wealth strategies and client service. In 2011, Harrison transferred to the Merrill Lynch office in La Jolla, California, and then to New York. He joined the Cafaro Group in 2015. Harrison received his master’s degree from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University and his bachelor’s degree from Duke University. Harrison earned varsity letters in football, and track and field, from Duke, a varsity letter in football and two Big Ten Championship rings from Ohio State. He is an active member of the Duke and Ohio State alumni clubs as well as several different organizations that cater to people with special needs.
Lindsey began her career in the financial services industry in 2001 and joined Merrill Lynch in 2013. Her commitment to outstanding customer service makes her a value to the team. In her role as a client associate, Lindsey hopes to help clients navigate through today’s financial landscape in the most effective way possible. Lindsey lives with her family in the South Shore and enjoys sports, traveling and boating.
Serap's career started at Citibank in 2006 in retail banking. She then joined Bank of America in 2009. Serap moved to Merrill Lynch in 2012 and joined The Cafaro Group in 2015 as a client associate. Serap brings operational excellence with timely responsiveness to client requests. She assists with new account openings, operational and customer accounting and client communications. A graduate of Uludag University in Turkey, Serap holds a bachelor’s degree in economics. She lives in Watertown, Massachusetts. She enjoys hiking during fall and spring in New England and kayaking. Her parents live in Istanbul and she travels a few times each year to visit them.
