  • Authenticating you when you call, visit us online or visit us at the branch office

  • Important: We do not call our clients and ask for their personal information. We already have your information on file. We only ask you for some pieces of your personal information to authenticate yourself when you call us — for example, your date of birth, the last four digits of your Social Security number, your mother's maiden name, etc.

  • Merrill Lynch offers all clients the opportunity to create a telephonic security code to securely access account information over the phone
  • Using common security technologies to protect your information, including when you are logged in to our network of Merrill Lynch websites
  • Providing you Zero Liability Fraud Protection with your Merrill Lynch Visa® Cards
  • Our fraud experts and intelligent networks monitor ongoing transactions against established activity profiles
  • If fraud is suspected, a fraud expert will call you
  • Training our employees in the appropriate policies and procedures to protect your personal information
  • Electronic delivery of statements to reduce the chance of mail theft
