You are investing for a reason. From funding your retirement and providing for your family to creating a lasting legacy, your investments are a reflection of what you want to achieve. At our firm, we offer you a wide range of investments to help you invest toward your goals, including model portfolios that are managed by our Chief Investment Office (CIO) and some of the industry’s leading investment managers.

Working together, it is easy to create a personalized approach
You can work with a Merrill advisor to use model portfolios to seek to implement a personalized, goals-based approach made up of professionally managed strategies designed to meet common investing goals, risk tolerances and preferences. Using model portfolios, you can:
- Create a personalized approach using one model portfolio or a combination of model portfolios.
- Build a comprehensive investment approach by using model portfolios alongside other investments.
If this approach meets your needs, model portfolios are designed to potentially help you grow your wealth for the future, generate income to fund your lifestyle and even invest in a more sustainable future.
Using personalized model portfolios to invest towards your goals
Grounded in the latest thinking of the Chief Investment Office
Each CIO model portfolio at Merrill is informed by the latest market insights from our Chief Investment Office. Model portfolios are grounded in our Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation guidance and investment selection are actively monitored and rebalanced to address changing market conditions. This can help you seek to maintain a disciplined approach to your investing that balances risk and return and make steady progress towards your goals over the long-term while accessing the professional management of the Chief Investment Office.
Our range of CIO model portfolios may also offer additional benefits. Investments included in these models undergo a full due diligence review and are monitored by our Due Diligence team. CIO model portfolios are managed by our team of professional, in-house portfolio managers, who have direct access to our Due Diligence team’s analysts' ongoing insights and updates about the investments—offering a range of solutions that represent some of the best thinking of our firm.
Investment Manager Model Portfolios
The Investment Manager model portfolios managed by third-party asset managers are grounded in the CIO’s Strategic Asset Allocation guidance and are also subject to full CIO Due Diligence. While the underlying investments in these model portfolios are not reviewed by CIO Due Diligence team separately, CIO Due Diligence assesses the manager’s capability in selecting managers, managing the total portfolio and meeting its investment objective.
See if model portfolios are right for you
You and your advisor can choose from model portfolios managed by the CIO portfolio management team at our firm, from third-party investment managers or a combination of the two. This approach helps you access institutional-quality investment management expertise that’s not available to all investors as you create a personalized strategy.
If you want personalized advice from a dedicated advisor and the additional support of professional investment management, a model portfolio approach may be right for you.
